Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), the University of Tokyo and Institute of NanoEngineering and MicroSystems (iNEMS), the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) continued a bilateral MOU to enhance the collaboration between the two research institutes starting from 2006. The iNEMS was introduced by IIS to become a member of International Research Group NAMIS, which is comprised of 12 internationally reputable research organizations over nine countries. The two research institutes have built closer relation since then through several channels, such as visiting students, visiting scholars, and research collaboration. Prof. Hiroshi Toshiyoshi representing IIS, University of Tokyo visited NTHU on May 31st to attend the MOU ceremony while Dean Lai was representing CoE, National Tsing Hua University.
